How To Be Better In Life

When considering the many answers to how to be better in life, most of them tend to seem rather complicated. Surely there must be an easier way to overcome life’s little difficulties and become more productive, happier, and more at ease. Considering the old adage that life is a game, there may be answers in it.
When learning to play any new game or sport, a good coach will teach you the fundamentals. The first fundamental for any endeavor will be to learn to focus. The same can be said for improving one’s life. Learning to focus on your surroundings can cause you to stop reacting too quickly.
Of course, this sounds oxymoronic to say that one can stop reacting. It seems that everything is related to reactions. Without quick reactions, for example, one could easily enter into a dangerous situation.
However, there is a difference between instinctual reactions and thoughtful ones. By learning to stay focused and to pay attention to your surroundings, the element of surprise is greatly minimized. So begin to pay attention to those around you, what they are saying, what they are doing, and the environment you are all in.

This is the essence of making a more meaningful life. Treating others rationally, and having others treat you the same, is the goal, and mindfulness can help to get you there.
