Sunburn Treatment

At some time or the other, we have all experienced the effects of sunburn, be it a minor or a more heavy burn.
Here are four natural home remedies to help calm the pain of sunburn, and aid in the body’s healing process:

Sunburn Treatment
Water: When you are too much exposed in sun, your body loses water and vital body salts. Dehydration happens when your body loses too much of body fluid, and starts to reabsorb fluid from the blood and other body tissues. To avoid the results of dehydration, increase your fluid intake to ensure you adequately re-hydrate your body for optimum healing and good health.
Milk: The fat and lactic acids in milk are noted to have calmative qualities for sunburned skin. Dip a soft cloth or cotton gauze in cool whole milk, and touch carefully onto the burned skin. Do this for about 20 minutes, and then rinse off with cool water. Remember milk’s fat content is important here, so whole milk should be used in this treatment.
Aloe Vera: Aloe Vera is usually used to medicate sunburn. It provides soothing relief and also assists in the healing process. Apply to the affected parts as required. However, the gel extracted directly from an aloe, Vera’s plant works best, but if you don’t get one, you may use Aloe Vera Cream. For this to be efficient make sure that the cream contained a good concentration of Aloe Vera than it does water or other solutions.
Sugarless Tea: The tannin in tea is the active constituent here, which helps to ease and cure some of the discomfort of sunburned skin. After making a big pot of tea, and allowing it to cool completely, thump the affected spots with a soft sponge or washcloth. You could also fill a spray bottle, and spray it away on the spots. You could in addition use (cool) tea bags. These are particularly excellent for sensitive areas around the eyes – just place the tea bags over your eyes if they feel hot and tired.
Sunburn can be avoided when you take some measures. Its adverse effects not only lead to damage to the skin, but also the increased chances of skin cancer. Prevention and care must always be thought over the best treatment for sunburn, and will assist in ensuring your optimum long-term health.
