A Guide To Anti-Aging Creams

It’s never too early to start using anti aging creams, even if your skin is youthful. As we age, wrinkles appear and beating wrinkles after they appear is a much more difficult challenge than preventing them from appearing in the first place. Looking good in middle-age and beyond is simpler when you start using anti-aging products now.

Most products on the market consist of moisturising agents as well as key anti-aging ingredients.  In order to know which products to use, it is important to understand these ingredients and what they do. Retinol is one of the core ingredients, and is one of the forms of vitamin A which has shown to reduce lines and pores. Anti-oxidants protect cells from damage by free radicals, while alpha hydroxy acids or AHAs enhance the exfoliation of the skin which may improve your appearance, however it does cause redness and irritation to certain skin types.

It is important to note that one cream will not fix everything or take care of every problem that you have with your skin. Depending on the time of the day and even the season of the year, our skin requires different products. There are also no ‘miracle creams’ that work instantly as a cream will simply delay the ageing process and not stop it altogether. Remember that everything takes time and usually it takes up to three months to start noticing improvements so stick with it for a little while before giving up.

One of the myths of anti aging creams is “the more expensive, the better”. Buy products that address the needs of your skin and not by price. Some people will purchase a product that is for a certain age bracket but this is not the best way either. For instance, someone could have fine lines in their 20s if they have been exposed to the sun a lot. Make sure to address your specific needs and your skin will thank you.
